Happening in front of Miami's
new landmark building Marquis,
Time After Self Portrait by
Marya Kazoun is an off-site
installation of stuffed
"creatures," positioned
throughout the plaza, who will
come alive during a dazzling
performance on Friday, December
4 at Marquis (12pm champagne
reception).
Another smaller scale
performance is scheduled on
Friday, December 5 (5pm) at ART
ASIA Miami for Truly
Truthful, an exhibition
curated by Leeza Ahmady. Working
primarily in installation and
performance, Kazoun created
worlds that parallel the one in
which we live - exploring micro
versus macro, beauty versus
ugliness. Her artistic approach
is predominantly feminine, as
seen in her dexterity with
materials and mastery of
ancestral techniques like sewing
and weaving. There will be a
special cocktail reception
hosted by SAAGA Vodka from
4pm-6pm.
This project is made possible
by: Africa Israel USA, Art
Assets, and ART ASIA. Co-curated
by Ombretta Agro' Andruff and
Leeza Ahmady.
